3 Great Space-Saving Ideas for the Home

Space-Saving Ideas for the Bedroom

We all know that over the years of living in the same home we can accumulate a lot of things. Here are a few space-saving ideas you might find interesting to use for some things you just don’t want to part with but can’t quite find that little “extra space” to put it.

Saving space in the bedroom is easy. You can furnish even the smallest of places in any bedroom with some stylish and functional modular bedroom furniture. It makes the room look and feels clutter-free, chic, and classy!

DIY Ideas

Hang shelves up high or use corner shelving for some DIY home decorating ideas. This will utilize your wall space while saving floor space. Purchase and hang wall sconces instead of table lamps. You can even use a nice decorative shelf by your bed as a nightstand. A murphy bed will save lots of space and give you more room in a very small bedroom. It’s super easy to do and you will be amazed at the difference in the space it creates. And, it makes cleaning the floor or carpet a lot easier as well!

Utilize the Under Stairs Space

Everyone knows how space is lost under the stairs. I have seen some beautiful stair drawers and bookshelves used to save space. Need an extra half bath? Space under the stairs can even be utilized for an easily accessible bathroom.

Space-Saving Ideas for the Kitchen

Space in the kitchen area seems to be gobbled up quickly. Especially with large pizza and cookie baking pans. I don’t know about you, but large flat pans can be difficult to store in a small cupboard. I came across some under-the-cabinet drawers that were wide enough to take on even the biggest pan! Hang other pots and pans from an overhead rack instead of using all your cabinet space. If you are considering building a shipping container home as an option, these ideas would be great since space can be limited.

Be Creative In Saving Space

There are so many ways to be creative if you just stop and think about it. You can go from room to room and realize the solution was right in front of your nose all along. Get rid of all unnecessary furnishings, nick-nacks, etc, first. Then, all you have to do is just take some time and effort to come up with some of your own ideas. I know it’s in you, so come on, let’s get going! Also, be sure to check out the beginner’s guide to home office decorating and these small living room decorating ideas.
